Audi shows off RS3 Sportback

rs3Audi has released new images with the 2015 RS3 Sportback scheduled to go on sale in March (Europe only)

When Audi introduced its hot hatch RS3 “world-beating car” last month they only published a handful of photos showing the model in a Catalunya Red paint but thankfully more pics have now been released. Most of them show the RS3 wearing a Sepang Blue paint but in some of the attached pictures the car has a white livery suitable for the firm’s Winter Driving Experience while behind the wheel is none other than two-time DTM champion Mattias Eckström.

Then range-topping A3 model is equipped with a “class-conquering engine” taking the shape of a 2.5-liter, five-cylinder turbo developing 367 HP (270 kW) and 465 Nm (342 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is coupled to a seven-speed S tronic transmission sending power to a quattro all-wheel drive system which enables the RS3 to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). At an additional cost, Audi is willing to raise the electronic top speed limiter to 174 mph (280 km/h).

Speaking of costs, Audi hasn’t officially announced the starting price but a glitch on their German website showed a €56,600 sticker. We do know for sure order books will open in March ahead of customer deliveries set for the summer.
